Victoria's Symphony Splash

This Sunday the Victoria Symphony takes to the stage, or should I say the barge? Join the Victoria Symphony and Maestra Tania Miller for the annual "Symphony Splash," the largest outdoor symphony event in Canada and one of the largest in North America.

If you attend you'll be in good company. Up to 40,000 people attend the "Symphony Splash." It's definitely a family affair. There's a kid's splash zone on the lawn of the legislature with an instrument petting zoo, face painting and more.

The "Symphony Splash" begins at 4:00 with the Vic High R&B Band and at 7:30 Maestra Tania Miller and the Victoria Symphony take the floating barge, for a concert that includes "O Canada," "Pomp and Circumstance March No. 4" of Sir Edward Elgar, "Tara's Theme" from Gone With the Wind, "Rhapsody in Blue" by Gershwin Christine Wong, 2009 Young Splash Soloist and much more!

If you attend the splash I'd love to hear about it and see your photos. You can e-mail me at rilette@wsu.edu.
